This depends on which state you are based in Australia. For most states, Segway-Ninebot electric scooters are categorised as motorised vehicles, however, where they have been legalised, they do not require registration or a driver’s license. Please check with local government for details.

 

How far can you go on a Segway-Ninebot electric scooter?

Segway Ninebot electric scooters travel best on smooth surfaces but are also designed to handle uneven terrains such as pebbled roads, grass, wet concrete/pavements, and hills. Most electric scooter models include shock absorption suspension or inflatable and wide-diameter tyres for rider comfort. Are Segway-Ninebot scooters safe?

Segway Ninebot scooters are about as safe as riding a bike, but due to their power output, users need to ride carefully and slow down depending on their surroundings. it is not always safe to ride at 25km/h on a footpath, for example. It is important to look out for pedestrians and slow down around driveways uneven terrain. Our scooters are made of high-quality materials such as aircraft-grade alloy and are designed to be weather resistant. They are also fitted with both front and rear braking which can be combined for optimal stopping power.

 

Must I wear a helmet while I ride my scooter?

Yes. As with riding a bike, a helmet is the most important safety precaution to minimise the risk of injury. Wearing of a helmet is mandatory by law in all states of Australia.

Can I travel by plane with my electric scooter?

Travelling with your electric scooter depends on the regulations of the transportation carrier and local laws on personal mobility devices.  Many airlines allow electric mobility products to be checked in as oversized or dangerous luggage. Some will require the batteries to be removed. However, we recommend checking with your airline for their specific guidelines, particularly in regard to:

How often should I replace my electric scooter battery?

Batteries should be replaced every 2-3 years to ensure optimum travel experience. Most Lithium-Ion batteries are expected to last around 1500-2000 charge cycles. Do not leave the battery flat for prolonged times. They should be store at above 80% charge and re-charged every other month to preserve their capacity and functionality.

 

When should I replace the tyres on my scooter?
